◆ Clipo · Canvas assistant

Edit your video by just saying it

Clipo's canvas assistant turns plain requests into real edits — captions, styling, reframing, trimming, audio, dubbing, highlight clips, and export. No timelines, no menus. Type what you want; watch it happen.

How it works

Three moves, every time.

1

Open the assistant

Add a video to the canvas, then click the ✦ sparkle in the left rail. The dark chat panel docks to the bottom-right — drag its header to move it, the corner to resize.

2

Say what you want

Type in your own words — “add captions and make it 9:16”. Press Enter to send. You can stack several edits into one sentence.

3

Watch it work

It replies, then runs each edit as a live step — a spinner while it works, a green check when it lands. The change appears on your video instantly.

02

What you can ask for

Everything the assistant knows how to do — with prompts you can copy.

Add captions

Auto word-by-word captions in any language — including romanized Hinglish.

Add Hinglish captions in Roman script

Runs first automatically if you ask to style or export without captions yet.

Apply a creator style

Switch to a ready-made caption look by name.

Switch to the Iman Gadzhi style

Presets: Ali Abdaal · Mr Beast · Alex Hormozi · Devin Jatho · Editing Skool · Bubble · Accent Mix · Iman Gadzhi.

Two words per line, uppercase
Change the active-word animation to bounce

Motions: fade · bounce · pop · zoom · blur · tilt · shake.

Design a brand-new style

Describe a look and the assistant builds it from scratch.

Soft pastel captions with a serif font

The generated look is saved and applied so you can tweak it further.

Trim

Keep a time range. Be specific with seconds or timestamps.

Trim to the first 8 seconds
Cut it to 0:05–0:20

Times are read against your clip's real duration.

Reframe

Crop to any social aspect ratio.

Reframe to 9:16 for Reels
Make it square
Crop to 4:5 for the feed

Ratios: original · 16:9 · 9:16 · 1:1 · 4:5 · 4:3.

Clean up audio

One toggle for noise reduction, levelling, and loudness.

Enhance the audio

Say “turn off audio enhance” to revert.

Dub & translate

Premium · lists scored highlight ranges you can trim to.

Export · watermark

Render the finished video, and manage the free-plan watermark.

Export the video
Turn off the watermark

Removing the watermark needs a paid plan; export burns in your captions and edits.

03

A real conversation

One message, four edits — this is exactly how the panel responds.

New chat
Add Hinglish captions, make it Mr Beast style, reframe to 9:16, then export

Edit

Order is handled for you

Captions are generated first automatically — styling and export always run on top of finished captions.

Live status, step by step

Each edit shows as its own row: a spinner while running, a green check when done, a red mark if something failed.

Stop anytime

The send button becomes a ■ stop while the assistant is working — press it to halt the run.

Mic & mode pill

The green Edit pill shows your current mode; the mic is reserved for voice input — both are on the roadmap.

04

Get more out of it

Small habits that make the assistant feel effortless.

Stack edits in one message

Comma-separate several requests and they run in order as a batch.

Try: “Add captions, use the Alex Hormozi style, reframe to 9:16, and export.”

Be exact with time

Give seconds or timestamps so trims land where you mean.

Try: “Trim to 0:03–0:18” · “keep the first 10 seconds.”

Name the look you want

Reference a creator preset by name, or describe a vibe to generate a fresh one.

Try: “Make it Devin Jatho style” · “design a bold neon look.”

Add the video first

With no footage on the canvas, the assistant will ask you to drop a clip in before it edits.

Tip: the ✦ button lives next to + Add video in the left rail.
05

Premium AI jobs

Bigger jobs — dubbing and clip-finding — run in the background on a paid plan.

Runs while you work

Ask for a dub or highlight clips and the assistant kicks off a background job — the panel shows a spinner, then drops the result into the chat when it's done. No waiting on a blank screen.

Paid plans only

These premium jobs need a paid plan — free users get an upgrade prompt.

Preview while rolling out

Voice-cloned dubs render for real once HeyGen is connected to your workspace.
